From Gundam Build Fighters comes the Sengoku Astray Gundam in Bandai’s MGBF lineup, a series built around the concept of recreating the custom Gunpla used by characters from the anime as full Master Grade kits. Based on the Astray Red Frame, the Sengoku Astray transforms the familiar design with elaborate samurai-inspired armor and a highly distinctive warrior aesthetic.

The kit retains the underlying structure of the Astray Red Frame while adding newly designed armor throughout the body. Large shoulder units, reinforced leg armor, and decorative samurai-style details give the completed model a much more imposing silhouette, while the larger 1/100 scale allows these shapes and layered mechanical elements to be reproduced with greater depth.

Clear parts and plated components are used throughout the design to enhance the contrast between the armor, frame, and decorative sections. Combined with molded color separation and foil stickers, the kit is designed to reproduce the Sengoku Astray’s characteristic colors and textures with a strong appearance straight from the box.

The shoulder armor incorporates deployment gimmicks that allow the silhouette to change between compact and expanded configurations. These movable sections add mechanical interest and help create more dramatic battle-ready poses.

The shield also features an opening and closing gimmick, giving builders additional display options and reinforcing the model’s heavily armored samurai theme.

One of the kit’s most distinctive features is the helmet-face component mounted on the backpack. This piece can be removed and equipped as a shield, adding another unique equipment option while visually reinforcing the Sengoku motif of the design.

The Master Grade scale provides a broad range of articulation for sword-fighting poses, defensive stances, and dramatic action displays. The combination of the Astray-based frame and large custom armor allows the Sengoku Astray to maintain a powerful silhouette while still supporting dynamic movement.
