The HG 1/100 VF-31E Siegfried piloted by Chuck Mustang from Macross Delta arrives in a premium Deluxe Set that combines the transforming Valkyrie model with an exclusive acrylic stand and dedicated water-slide decals featuring Reina Prowler. Designed to balance high-quality detail with approachable assembly, this release offers refined proportions, extensive display options, and character-focused extras for Macross Delta collectors.

The kit uses Bandai’s Shortcut Change three-stage transformation system, which simplifies conversion by incorporating selected replacement parts into the transformation sequence. This allows the VF-31E to switch smoothly between Battroid, Gerwalk, and Fighter modes while preserving the carefully refined silhouette of each configuration. By reducing unnecessary mechanical complexity, the design maintains the ease of assembly expected from the HG series while providing wide articulation and stable posing.

Each mode has been engineered to closely reflect the original design artwork. Fighter mode emphasizes the VF-31E’s sleek aerodynamic profile, Gerwalk mode combines forward mobility with flexible limb positioning, and Battroid mode offers a broad range of expressive combat poses. Optimized articulation points throughout the shoulders, torso, hips, arms, and legs allow the model to recreate airborne maneuvers, grounded firing stances, and dramatic action scenes.

Insert molding is used to reproduce areas with complex color separation directly from the runners. This advanced molding method helps deliver a detailed, multicolored appearance with minimal reliance on painting, combining a premium finish with a straightforward building experience.

The VF-31E’s distinctive radome is fully represented and can be displayed in both stored and deployed configurations. The arm-mounted minigun pods can also be switched between retracted and expanded states, allowing builders to recreate reconnaissance, standby, and combat-ready displays. These specialized features distinguish Chuck Mustang’s electronic warfare unit from the other VF-31 Siegfried variants.

Landing gear is included for a realistic parked Fighter-mode display. The cockpit is carefully recreated and includes a pilot figure, while the rear seat can be occupied by a helmeted Walküre member in a seated pose. A standing Reina Prowler figure wearing her Walküre stage outfit is also included, expanding the set’s character display and diorama possibilities.

Two combat knives are provided for close-range action scenes, along with interchangeable hand parts for weapon handling and expressive Battroid poses. The included multi-drone plate-style figure base supports the standing character figure, while an additional stand component allows Reina to be displayed above the radome for a distinctive Macross Delta presentation.

Exclusive to this Deluxe Set is a Reina Prowler acrylic stand featuring newly drawn artwork by Macross Delta character designer Chisato Mita of CAPCOM. The reverse side of the acrylic stand is printed with a rear-view illustration, creating a more complete collector display. A dedicated water-slide decal sheet is also included, allowing builders to add fine markings and achieve a more detailed, professional-looking finish.
